Bring the magic of Christmas into a festive treat for neighbors and friends with this yummy layered chocolate graham cracker bark!
I hope your holiday season is going well!
With so many “to do’s” competing for our attention this time if year, it can be difficult to slow down, relax, and enjoy this wonderful month of December that always slips by all too soon. I know, there are gift lists to conquer, parties to attend, and end of year commitments to wrap up. It can get so hectic!
But one thing that is really a stress relief for me is to hit the kitchen and bake some goodness that I can then share with those I love. Whether I wrap it up all pretty and give it as a gift or just enjoy a bite here and there when I need a serious sugar fix.
This Christmas season really is magical if we allow it to be. Just look at the twinkling eyes of a baby who has just seen his or her first Christmas tree all decked out and lit up. We got to witness that this year with our little boy who was too tiny last year to even know what a Christmas tree was. And now all he wants to do is attack it and snag the ornaments. 🙂 He’s obsessed!
I still remember waiting up all night on Christmas Eve to see if I could hear reindeer hooves on the roof or Santa’s jingle bells as he bounded down the chimney. Now I love that I get to experience that through my own children. And it still gets me all giddy and overjoyed to see them in that state.
If only we could all have a dose of the wonder and amazement of a child, it would make for a very memorable holiday experience!
Speaking of wonder, this cracker bark is wonderful! Layers of graham cracker, semisweet chocolate, and white chocolate topped with a generous sprinkling of magic holiday dust (a.k.a. festive sprinkles, red and green M&M’s and chocolate chips).
It’s what Christmas morning feels like to a child (you know, the explosion of butterflies, anticipation and excitement all welling up inside), but in a very tangible, edible form! Except it’s not just edible. It’s addicting! I’m telling you, one batch will not be enough!
Here’s how to make it: you’ll simply line a cookie sheet with graham crackers, then spread some melted semi-sweet chocolate over, let it set in the refrigerator, then spread some melted white chocolate over and sprinkle with whatever pretty toppers your heart desires. Then you’ll let the white chocolate set and slice into triangle pieces. At this point, it would make a gorgeous and delicious neighbor gift, all packaged up, or you can keep it all for yourself and I totally won’t blame you. 🙂
Christmas Magic Cracker Bark
Ingredients
- 15 graham crackers
- 2 c. semi-sweet melted chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips if you like it super sweet, melted
- 2 c. white chocolate chips melted
- Festive sprinkles chocolate chips and other candies for topping
Instructions
- Line a large cookie sheet with sides with graham crackers. You'll want to make sure they're touching, but not overlapping. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and quickly spread over the graham crackers. Let chocolate set. I put mine in the fridge for 10 minutes to speed up the process. Melt white chocolate chips and quickly spread over semi-sweet chocolate layer. The white chocolate will set up fast, so work quickly! Immediately sprinkle with garnishes and allow it all to set. Use a large, sharp knife to slice it into triangles.
This is one of the quickest and yummiest treats you could add to your Christmas goodie plates!
You’ll want to make this cracker bark an annual holiday tradition! It’s a new favorite around here!
