Spring has sprung and boy, are we glad! It’s time to celebrate a new season with this colorful outdoor Spring Florals Party!
I thought we’d said goodbye to winter until we received a surprise snow storm this past weekend. There were about 8″ on the ground by the time the storm blew over! Yikes! I was tempted to be annoyed, but we really need the moisture, so I tried to smile through it. 🙂
However, much to my appreciation, two days later, you’d never know that happened, because we’re back to perfect temps and green grass that desperately needs mowing.
Spring time for us means lots of wind, which posed a fun challenge for me in photographing this party tablescape. 🙂 But, I persevered because I just couldn’t get enough of these pretty floral prints, hanging umbrellas, oversized tissue paper flowers, fresh carnations, coloring page pinwheels, mini cucumber sandwiches, and yummy DASANI® Sparkling beverages!
I love all the fresh blooms this time of year. They make my heart happy and are the inspiration for today’s colorful bash.
I’m so excited to take you along on a little photo tour and provide full tutorials of how to set up this beautiful table so you can re-create it yourself.
Let’s start with my favorite components-the food and drink.
I’m pretty much in love with mini food. Things just seem to taste better when they’re cute and little. 🙂 These dainty Cucumber Sandwiches are SO easy to make and are quite addicting! I’m speaking from experience, of course.
I arranged them on a wooden cake stand on top of parchment paper, since they’re a little juicy. I’d recommend preparing them just before serving for this reason.
I’ll share how to put them together here and you can scroll to the bottom of this post to find the full recipe.
Begin by peeling and then scoring your cucumber with a fork to create textured lines all around it. Slice it into thicker slices. Create the filling by stirring together the cream cheese, Italian dressing mix, shredded rotisserie chicken, and sour cream.
Place a scant tablespoonful on one cucumber slice, then press another slice on top. That’s it!
Now, it wouldn’t be a party without something refreshing to drink, now would it?! I served up some DASANI Sparkling beverages in Raspberry Lemonade, Strawberry Guava, and Lemon. I placed them on ice in a cute yellow metal bucket.
Guess what?! These beverages are on a temporary price cut, at just $2.99 for all 8-packs of slim cans at all stores. Strawberry Guava is a new flavor. Look for new White Peach and Blood Orange too!
And because spring time always has me craving fruit, I included some pretty bowls of fresh raspberries and blackberries with wooden spoons, as well.
The gorgeous floral table covering is actually wrapping paper that I found in the craft section at Target. I love that it’s inexpensive and yet looks so classy!
These are such a delicious way to quench the thirst!
I picked up my DASANI Sparkling beverages, along with all the party supplies at Target.
I love sipping DASANI Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade straight out of the can, chilled of course! Yum, yum!
Now let’s talk about the decor!
I purchased a coloring book at Target and turned a few pages into adorable pinwheel decorations!
I first used coloring pencils to color the pages (well actually, I enlisted my daughter for this task, and she was happy to do it), then I printed THIS pattern and cut them out. Then I brought every other corner into the center and secured the sections together with hot glue and a button. I hot glued each pinwheel to a cute paper straw.
I just adore how they turned out! I placed them in milk jars with small rocks in the bottom.
The paper pinwheels look so pretty as a backdrop on the table!
I placed them on a wooden crate surrounding some fresh flowers in a mason jar. I wrapped the jar with burlap ribbon, hot glued it in place, then wrapped a piece of pom pom ribbon around on top and hot glued it in place in the back.
When I think of spring I think of rain showers, although here it’s mostly been snow showers. 🙂 And rain of course calls for cute umbrellas!
So I hung brightly-colored umbrellas from the tree above, at varying levels, using a ladder and yarn.
I whipped up some simple, large tissue paper flowers and used push pins to mount them on the fence behind the table.
I made two solid-colored flowers and two with patterns in coordinating colors.
To make the tissue paper flowers, grab a package of tissue paper (the more layers, the more fluffy and full it will be). Mine ranged from 6 to 8 layers.
Make sure all the layers are together and fold them accordion style. My folds were about 1″ wide. Â You can trim at the end, if there’s excess.
Now place a staple in the center. Round both ends with scissors. Now fan out one side and begin peeling up the separate layers. Do the same for the other side. You’re done!
Cucumber Mini Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 3 Cucumbers
- 2 c. shredded cooked chicken (use rotisserie chicken to make it easy)
- 4 oz. cream cheese softened
- 1 Tbsp. Italian dressing mix dry from the packet
- 2 Tbsp. sour cream
Instructions
- Stir together all ingredients in a bowl.
- Peel cucumbers and score them by running a fork down them, all around.
- Place a small spoonful of filling on one cucumber slice and top with another slice. Serve immediately as the cucumbers get juicy the longer they sit.

This pretty table is such a welcoming place where family and friends can gather and enjoy some yummies and good conversation in the gorgeous, warm weather!
