Tuxedo (or Black and White) Cheesecake Bars are creamy and delicious with an incredible Oreo crust! Perfect for celebrating a fancy occasion, but so simple to make!
With Valentine’s Day on its way, I’ve got all things dessert on the brain. I love to make the day extra special by indulging in a decadent treat, like today’s cheesecake bars. Valentine’s Day and cheesecake are pretty much synonymous to me. You can’t have one without the other, at least in my book.
I’ve got all the heart eyes for this Turtle Cheesecake that I shared a while back, but today’s Tuxedo Cheesecake Bars may just be my new favorite classic cheesecake recipe! They can easily be dressed up with toppings like fresh berries and nuts or a drizzling of chocolate or caramel syrup. But they are perfectly scrumptious on their own!
With the entailed richness of cheesecake, I love that these can be sliced into bite-sized or any sized bars for easy enjoyment! I took these black and white beauties to a ladies’ craft day and they received rave reviews!
I was able to come home with 8 new Valentine’s crafts to decorate my house! Times like that are the best! Dessert and crafts=best day ever!
The homemade Oreo crust comes together in a jiff and then while it’s baking, you can quickly mix up the smooth and incredible cream cheese layer. The only tricky part about this recipe is waiting patiently for it to bake! They will need to cool at room temperature for a bit, and then get some time in the refrigerator to cool completely to achieve that amazing finished texture! I promise, it’s well worth it!
Tuxedo Cheesecake Bars
Ingredients
- Crust:
- 30 whole Oreo's crushed (I placed them in a zip top bag and used a rolling pin)
- 1 stick 1/2 c. butter, melted
- Cream Cheese Layer:
- 3 blocks 24 oz. cream cheese, softened well, but not melted
- 1/4 c. sour cream
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. yes, Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
Instructions
- Line a 9"x13" dish with parchment paper so it hangs over the edges a little. Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
- For the crust, stir crushed Oreos and melted butter together until mixture is coated well. Press evenly into prepared 9x13" dish and bake for 9 minutes.
- While crust is baking, prepare cream cheese layer, in the bowl of an electric mixer, by first whipping the cream cheese until no lumps remain, then adding in sour cream, sugar, vanilla and eggs and creaming together well. Spread over baked crust and return to the oven to bake for an additional 50 minutes, or just until set completely.
- Let cool 1 hour at room temperature, then cover with foil and place in the fridge to chill for at least 4 hours to overnight.
- Carefully lift the cheesecake from the pan using the parchment paper. Slice and serve with fresh berries or other toppings.
These Tuxedo Cheesecake Bars are so impressive and perfect for any occasion, whether elaborate or low key!
Everyone needs a basic cheesecake recipe in their arsenal, and this is it! It’s fool-proof and soooooo yummy!
