These spooky cute cookies will really make you scream this Halloween! A chocolate cookie infused with OREOs and Cookies ‘n Creme pudding mix, then topped with purple and green goo (a.k.a. candy melts) and candy eyeballs.

My kids had a monstrous load of fun helping me decorate them. 🙂
Beware! You might just howl with delight when you take a bite.
Sorry, I’ll stop now.
But seriously, if you’re a cookie monster like me, you NEED to make these!

Your Halloween party just wouldn’t be complete without these adorable three-eyed guys. These would also be so fun to bring as a special classroom Halloween treat! The kids will go BATTY for them!
I can’t wait to take my own little monsters out trick-or-treating this year. So far, my oldest daughter is going to be a dragon, my son is going as Harry Potter and my youngest daughter will be a Disney princess of some sort.
I think we traumatized my three-year-old last year when we were out and about on Halloween night, because she still talks about how scary the “clown house” was. I was petrified too. There were men in costume, obviously on stilts, wearing gobs of makeup and colored, poofy wigs, covered in fake blood and holding bats. The sound of fingers scratching on a chalkboard played in the background and an eery mist was billowing about. Bloody footprints marked the driveway.

{COOKIES ‘N SCREAM COOKIES}
Makes 24
3/4 c. ( 1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 c. light brown sugar, packed
4 oz. Cookies ‘n Creme instant pudding and pie filling, dry from the packet
2 large eggs
1 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. baking cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
12 OREO cookies, coarsely crushed
Purple and green candy melts
Candy eyes
Crush OREOs. I placed them in a zip up bag and used a rolling pin to crush them.
Stir together flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, salt and pudding mix (I didn’t add the whole packet, just eye-balled about 4 oz.) in a bowl. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream together butter, brown sugar, water, eggs and vanilla. Add dry mixture and mix just until combined. With a large spoon, stir in crushed OREOs.
Roll into balls and place 2″ apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet or nonstick baking mat. Gently press the balls down with the palm of your hand to flatten them slightly.
Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes. Remove to cooling rack and allow to cool while preparing the candy melts. In two microwave-safe bowls, melt green and purple candy melts in the microwave. Drizzle over cookies. Place candy eyes on drizzled candy coating while still warm.

I made the mistake of trying to get to the door behind the clowns. What can I say? I was desperate for candy. And, I didn’t think they’d do what they did next.
They started moving at us and pounding the ground in front of them with the bats. That’s when we took off up the street, never to look back. My youngest was wailing in horror. I still have chills thinking about it. It crossed the line.
I’m all for the cute and spooky, but when it gets gory and downright nightmarish, I’ve had enough.
These cookies are definitely the right kind of scary. They’re so adorable I wouldn’t mind if they popped up in my dreams. I think I’d laugh and take a bite. 🙂
Enjoy this delightful, festive fudgy treat, covered in goo and eyeballs!
Happy Halloween!
